BLS is training that would benefit everyone in all walks of life. However, within healthcare, it is considered as a valuable skill to all staff. The taught modules follow the Resuscitation Council (UK) guidelines 2015 which have been accredited by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence. This is tailored specifically to clinical practice within the UK.
Participants are provided with comprehensive information about BLS for adults, paediatrics and the newborn. Furthermore, the training also outlines the different approaches that can be used when supporting adults, paediatrics and the infant to reduce any accidental harm that may occur in the resuscitation process.
Moreover, the training aims to equip participants with the skills to identify and respond to cardiopulmonary arrest while ensuring that the automated external defibrillator (AED) is used safely. This will be done by ensuring that the DRABCD approach to resuscitation is applied at all times.
